Taylor Swift is talented, beautiful, and one of the most famous people in the world. When she sings about her loves gone wrong, well, we can all relate. Because of the personal and confessional nature of her lyrics. Swifties pride themselves about knowing everything there is to know about Taylor Swift. In addition to writing and recording some of the best country songs of the decade, the superstar has two or three other hobbies she keeps sharp — some she even had early success with. But even the most die-hard fans might not know these 13 facts.
1. It was upon hearing 11-year-old Taylor singing the national anthem at the 76ers game that Mr. & Mrs. Swift decided to take their daighter to Nashville and get her a record deal.
2. She's sort of blind.
She probably can't see you. Because as of just a few years ago, she was nearly blind and the country-pop singer has admitted her preferred frames are big and the ugliest glasses you’ve ever seen.
3. Her first job involved a lot of bugs.
She spent her childhood working on her family's 11-acre Christmas tree farm. And had the un-glamorous task of knocking off praying mantis pods out of the trees.
5. She'll probably never get a real tattoo.
The thought of a real tattoo actually terrifies her. She doesn't think she could commit to any one saying or symbol for the rest of her life. If anything, she'd get the '13' that fans have seen on her hand during live shows inked on.
6. She comes from a musical family.
Her grandma, Marjorie Finlay was a celebrated opera singer in Singapore and Thailand. And a television host in Puerto Rico. The apple really doesn't fall far from the tree.

It's a well-known fact that country crooner LeAnn Rimes' concert convinced Taylor that Nashville was the place she belonged. But did you know that the Dixie Chickswere as important to her as any of these? Swift makes a statement with her songs, something Natalie Maines and company were always proud to do
9. She 's an award-winning poet.
We all know she's an awesome songwriter, but did you know that in the fourth grade, she penned a poem called 'Monster in My Closet' that won a national poetry contest. In it, she wrote: “There’s a monster in my closet and I don’t know what to do. Have you ever seen him? Has he ever pounced on you?” Too cute, right?
10. Her favorite TV show is Grey's Anatomy.
She thought she'd name her first daughter Izzy, after Katherine Heigl's character on the show. And she even named her cat Meredith after Ellen Pompeo's role. So when she heard her song "White Horse" featured on the show, she went crazy. Watch the video below to see her reaction!
