After their successful first run early this year, Philippine Educational Theater Association's (PETA) hit musical "Rak of Aegis" is set to return on stage this coming June!
"Rak of Aegis," a rock-comedy musical inspired by the music of iconic OPM rock band Aegis, was the talk of the town during their first run, making them a certified must-see show here in the Philippines.
The play touches the story of love and fame, as well as showing how resilient the Filipinos are during times of calamities, stitched with their love for music. It is amazing how the team behind "Rak of Aegis" was able to connect OPM to Philippine theater with this kind of spectacle.
"We're always looking for something that's very Filipino, so why not?" PETA Artistic Director Maribel Legarda said when asked about why they decided to come up with a musical inspired by the music of Aegis.
"Yung beauty pa na magko-cross yung OPM tapos magiging teatro tapos nalagyan pa namin within the context of yung disaster and yung mga difficulties na nangyayari. So, it was really not difficult to say 'yes, that's a great idea'," she added.
