Everybody is literally clutching their seats in anticipation of the second installment of the film series PLANET OF THE APES! Since the release of its predecessor, the RISE OF THE PLANETS OF THE APES, hearts already went aflutter expecting the next one to be even bigger. In deed you will not be disappointed. Here are four things you should watch out for the epic DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES.
1. Insanely realistic 3D graphics
In this day and age, we've seen numerous films pop out from the silverscreens in an attempt to serve us with a platter-full of almost interactive viewing experience. the DAWN OF THE PLANETS OF THE APES does just that. Expect that as you shiver in your seats as humans and apes battle it our right in front your eyes.
Director Matt Reeves, who created a vivid and unexpected sense of realism in his 2008 thriller Cloverfield, says, “My hope is that audiences – even knowing about the visual effects – will say, ‘Wait a minute. There weren’t real live apes in the movie at all?"
2. Lightning speed plot development
Continuing from Caesar's story of gaining 'freedom' from the first film, expect that there will be more gut-wrenching and mind-numbing turn of events that will lead to an epic war between humans and apes that will leave you wanting for more.
The story will evolve around a growing nation of genetically evolved apes, led by Caesar, are threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
3. A visual lesson on evolution
The film, aside from touching on other quite realistic concepts borrows the human evolution and applies the same process to Caesar and the apes he leads. Intelligence. Language. Behavior. Lifestyle. These are but some of the different aspects of the culture of humans that the apes will begin to acquire.
It explores how the apes evolved from the mostly mute but intelligent animals of Rise of the Planet of the Apes, into articulate, civilized beings that emerge as Earth’s dominant species within the canon of the Planet of the Apes franchise.
4. A sense of empowerment
The entire film is coated over with a quite obvious message on the right of every creature to exist and co-exist harmoniously. And with each arising conflict, this is only proven to be quite a difficult arrangement to maintain. History would only prove that the intelligent always seeks to rise to a new dawn and proclaim itself the more dominant species. Aside from that, it touches metaphorically on modern and age-old sociological issues that have caused friction among the human race - slavery and violence, among so much more.
This is a story of how each species strive to protect its own in the struggle and whichever side yo choose, depending on your moral compass, would more or less spark empowerment.
