On a glorious Monday night, Jessie J took the stage in a daring metallic pink cut-out ensemble for her performance at the Smart Araneta Coliseum last night. It's no doubt that she's one of the greatest foreign acts to ever hit the Manila concert stage.
She wowed and stunned all her fans who came to her show and gave everyone a phenomenal experience that they will surely never forget.
Despite being sick, the popstar certainly didn't disappoint her fans with her spectacular and all-consuming performance of her best hits. Everyone just loved her high-energy performance as she showcased her powerhouse musical style that mixes soul vocals with R&B, pop, electro-pop and hip-hop beats, the fierce music sensation had everyone chanting the lyrics to popular dance anthems.
For the most part, the songs from both her studio albums was just amazing to be heard live, with tracks like 'Di It Like A Dude' and 'Domino' proving to be crowd-pleasers, the audiences literally stomped their feet for more. Being one of the most explosive and divisive artist in today's pop scene, the strength of her vocals just cannot be denied. Her moves, her voice and her character was just superb, especially when her hit single "Laserlight" filled the dome and even gave her fans a little treat by singing a cover of "Wonderwall." Calling out to the crowd, Jessie told them to "Never ever ever let other people change you" and thanked her Filipino fans for coming to her show.
"Whenever someone's mean to you, it says more about them than you," she told her fans - "Heartbeats" - later in the evening. One of the most touching moments of the night was when she read an emotional letter that a young fan had thrown on stage in which he explained how Jessie's songs had helped him through the toughest times in his life. The whole coliseum felt the surge of emotions in Jessie as she was brought to tears by this. Later on she dedicated the song "Keep Us To You" to the young boy.
All songs simply inspire and emphasize that it's okay not to be okay, to have fun, to be who you are and to march to the beat of your own drum as she told everyone at the dome,"We got one life, that's it."
Jessie J also suprised everyone when she called out The Voice contestant, Morisette Amon for a performance of "Who You Are." And this epic duet definitely blew the crowd away.
Before closing with an electrifying performance of her hit song "Price Tag." She did tell all her Pinoy fans that "This has been the best show of this tour."
Congratulations on a very successful show here in Manila, Jessie J!
