KJWAN Launches 5th Studio Album, "Kjwan IV Volume II"

Last July 19, 12 Monkeys was packed with people headbanging to Kjwan's latest tracks as it hosted the launch of the band's new album.

"Kjwan 4 Volume 2" is the second part of the Kjwan 4 series, which began with Volume 1 EP launched back in 2011. This includes 8 original songs, all of which were recorded and produced by Pat Jalbuena.

Coming back strong with the addition of their new drummer Eo Marcos, Kjwan is better than ever. It's the band's first release after the they reemerged with a new lineup. According to the other band members, "Linigawan po namin siya ng one year, now we're complete and we're super happy. We've got a baby brother here EO to bring in some new riffs, new sound and new flavor."

After ten years of rocking the stage Kjwan hasn't even slowed down one bit, when asked what keeps pushing them to continue what they do, according to Marc Abaya, "The reason why we've lasted more than 10 years is we decided that above all is friendship. Again, you can be the best musicians you can be. But if you're not friends, the audience is not dumb, they can tell if you're faking it. For some weird reason we are blessed. It's beyond us. We were able to get Enrique De Dios on keytar and keyboards and Mr. Eo Marcos on drums. So Boogie, Kelley and me, we pray everyday and thank God that we are where we are and we're still here."

Everyone had blast as they got to listen not only to group’s music but also got see their larger than life presence and awesome showmanship. The band's "Aking Pangako" has been receiving great air play on music websites and radio stations and it's really no wonder why. Their eight-track album entitled "Kjwan IV Volume II is packed with songs that are according to them is influenced with a lot of elements and a lot of styles that essentially describes the band's desire to make music for all of those who are willing to listen, the tracks are leaning more to heavier sounding rock and roll and it has unexpectedly a hint of funk and a bit of soul in it as the track entitled Helix has a lot of soul in it, it features singer Miki Hahn, it's the first time for the band to collaborate with other artists. The track is solid, yet delicate and graceful at the same time; all the elements are interlaced wonderfully.

Their album launch marks a strong comeback for the five-piece music machine as they performed their newest tracks as the line up of bands lending their support for the group were no less than big musicians such as Basti Artadi of Wolfgang, Tirso Ripoli of Razorback, along with Wally Gonzales and Mike Hahn.
