Super Junior’s leader Leeteuk has been discharged from the army after 21 months of service. The K-pop superstar wrapped up his compulsory military service at Injegun, Gangwondo on the morning of the 29th. He quietly entered a car that arrived early and sped off upon his entering the vehicle in order to make sure that he doesn't cause a fuss. This left some of the fans and the reporters who had gathered a bit disappointed as he quickly fled before they could catch a glimpse oh him.
But it wasn’t all basic training and firearms, though. While in the military, Leeteuk, reportedly co-starred in a musical called The Promise, which is about a group of soldiers who keep a promise made during the Korean 6.25 war. The show ran for 10 days at the National Theatre of Korea. (The musical was produced by the Ministry of National Defense.)
Leeteuk enlisted into the military on October 30, 2012 and entered the 306th battalion in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggido.
He is the third member of Super Junior to return to activities following his military service; Kangin and Heechul have already completed their duty, and Yesung is currently serving. Shindong and Sungmin are both reported to be entering the army either before or shortly after the start of 2015.
Welcome back, Leeteuk!
