It is a first for the Philippines to win in the megacrew division of the world dance competition. But Pinoy teams have always made us all proud in the realm of dancing, however, in different categories, most of the country's previous victories in the competition came from the Adult Crew category, with The Crew winning in 2012, Armistice in 2011, and the Philippine All Stars in 2009, 2008 and 2006. The Fil-Am dance group Jabbawockeez received the World Hip Hop Living Legend Award last 2012 and just last year, the University of the Philippines Street Dance Club (UPSDC) took home the bronze medal in the Megacrew Division of the World Hiphop Championship.
Saint Benilde's Romancon Dance Comany also competed for the finals of the Adult Division. They ranked 3rd in the prelims, 5th in the semis. Other Pinoy teams who made it to the The Addlib, Upeepz, Legit Status and Alliance.
The Philippine Allstars, who won the 2006 and 2008 World Hip Hop Championship, also extended their congratulations to The A-Team. “A-TEAM Megacrew 1st place at HHI2014! Woohoo! Congrats to ALL the Teams competing at the World Hip Hop in Vegas One Love & God Bless! :)” the group said.
