It's about time you heard what Pitik is all about

The band PITIK has been around since 2004. It started with two high school freshmen and two high school sophomores that were brought together by a common interest in music. Currently in the age range of 20 to 23, they are considered as one of younger bands from the South Metro Manila area. But one can say that they are also of the more experienced. They have played at notable establishments in Metro Manila. They've also been able to reach out to audiences in various provinces in the Northern and Southern areas of the Philippines including Cebu, Pampanga, Laguna, Baguio and Olongapo. They are favorites at high schools and colleges. They have been invited many times to perform at events sponsored by major universities in Metro Manila such as De La Salle University, Ateneo de Manila University and University of the Philippines.

Pitik is a band that uses the internet to spread their music and reach out to fans, friends and other musicians as well. Their YouTube videos have gotten over 17,000 views. Each member personally answers and posts items on the bandÆs official social networking sites. They have a following that is constantly growing on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and the blog site Tumblr.

Their music is easily described as alternative rock, but listening closely, you can hear different influences. Jay listens to a mix of blues and funk. Ari and Nikko are the eclectic ones listening to everything from classic rock to metal along with the newer pop-rock artists. While Jio favors artists of the early 2000's, as well as independent artists from here and abroad.

Jio and Ari are the main lyric writers, writing mainly from life experiences, while Jay and Nikko join in to write the melodies and arrange the music. They recorded their album at Tracks Studios with Monty Macalino of Mayonnaise and master producer Angee Rozul. PitikÆs self-titled debut album was released and launched on 05 Feb 2010. It is now available at gigs, via direct order and in Team Manila Lifestyle and Cushe Footwear Stores.

Production and writing for the follow up to their debut album has already begun. The band is looking at releasing their second album in the first quarter of 2012.
