Tutorial: How To Do Light Trails!

Most of us are into photography nowadays. With the different kind of DSLR cameras that come out of the market almost every month, everyone can be a photographer! But do you know how to maximize the use of your camera besides putting it on auto mode and taking pictures of your friends and family? In these tutorial, we will teach you how to capture light trails!

What are light trails? Light trails are the the colorful effect that photographers can capture during the night! It is when you can capture the head or tail light of the cars that pass by, or when you can hold a flashlight and write letters in the air! 

The result is pretty fantastic! Try it out for yourself and we're here to help! Here are some tips and tricks on how to do light trails! 

First off, you need the proper gear.

1. DSLR Camera

2. Tripod

3. Flashlight

Those three are the only gear you need! It's as easy as 1 2 3, literally! 

1st step- All you need to do is go to a place where you think is perfect and set up your gear.

2nd step- Put your camera in the lowest shutter speed possible. This is around 30 seconds or on bulb mode.

Don't forget to adjust your ISO and apperture/ f stop according to the lighting of the area.

For best results, set the ISO to 100

and the apperture to the maximum. This will be around 22-32 depending on your lens.

3rd step- Press the shutter speed and draw wings, a crown, trace your subject, or do whatever you want! You have 30 seconds! Just don't forget to get out of the frame before time runs out!

There you have it! Your own picture of light trails! Some of the pictures may not be perfect the first time, but all need to do is practice and play with your ISO, shutter speed and apperture.
