Former singer of Rivermaya - Jason Fernandez, 25, from Sta. Rosa Laguna, joined this season's The Voice of the Philippines! He sang a flawless rendition of "Huling El Bimbo" - an iconic song which immediately grabbed the attention of the coaches!
Jason has actually been joining singing contests since he was a kid and before fronting Rivermaya - the band that served as a springboard to his own musical career. He's already launched a solo career, released a solo album and has now tried his luck in this season's "The Voice"!
Watch his blind auditions in the video below!
Coach Bamboo, also a former vocalist of Rivermaya, met Jason on the set! He commented, "You sang it the way it's supposed to be sung!" He even joked around with him asking to see some ID!
Jokes aside, the rest of the coaches were seriously impressed with his performance as well! However, it was only Apl.de.Ap who turned his chair for Jason near the end of his audition - but that's all it takes for him to get to the next level of "The Voice"!
Looks like we'll be seeing more from this former Rivermaya vocalist again real soon! Let's see how well he does in the next round of "The Voice"!
Congratulations Jason Fernandez!
