Another cross-generational conflict has sparked after the 2013 feud between Miley Cyrus and Sinead O'Connor!
Veteran singer-actress Bette Midler, who's best known to Filipino fans for her songs "From A Distance" and "Wind Beneath My Wings", called out Ariana Grande on her sexed-up image during an interview with The Telegraph
on the so-called "pornification" of pop music.
The 68-year old icon was quoted as saying “It’s always surprising to see someone like Ariana Grande with that silly high voice, a very wholesome voice, slithering around on a couch, looking so ridiculous."
When asked for her advice to young women who want to break into showbusiness, Bette added: “Trust your talent. You don’t have to make a whore out of yourself to get ahead. You really don’t.”
Ariana addressed the issue by tweeting a photo of a scantily clad Bette taken early in her career. She also wondered where the "feminist who stood for other women being able to do whatever they wanted without judgement" went.
But the 21-year old maintained that she will always be a fan of Bette who starred in one of her favorite films!
A couple of hours later, Bette also went on Twitter and seemingly backtracked on her previous comments!
However, some Arianators were not appeased by the senior star's message!
Of course, Bette's fans also came to her defense!
