During Pope Francis' visit, the top two from the Voice of the Philippines Kids – Darren Espanto and Lyca Gairanod, alongside Jamie Rivera, Angeline Quinto, Erik Santos and Jed Madela were given the privilege to sing for His Holiness!
"The Pope effect" really left a mark on everyone who had witnessed him! With bright faces, MYXph.com sat down with Darren and Lyca as they share their Pope Francis experience!
The blessed, talented youngsters recalled the day they were asked to perform as Darren said, "When I heard that I was going to sing for the Pope, I felt honored and I felt so blessed kasi not everyone can be able to be invited to perform for the Pope."
Lyca also added "Naging masaya ako nung nalaman ko for the first time kay Pope na makakasama ko siya...masayang masaya na ako kasi kahit di na ako malapitan ni Pope, masaya na ako kasi blessed po kaming lahat."
The two who just returned from their The Voice Kids All-In concert in Cebu, shared more in a MYXclusive interview below about the preparations they did for singing for Pope Francis, what they learned that day and how they felt singing for Pope!

The start of their year rained with blessings! Darren's all-original album featuring nine songs is still out! He is set to have his total performance concert live in Bicol on January 23 and a post-Valentines concert in Manila as well!
Lyca, on the other hand is going to Isabela soon, and her first solo album is set to release this February!
