Sam Smith's "Stay With Me" was one of the biggest-selling singles of the past year. And now, the British singer-songwriter would have to share royalties and writing credit with veteran American rocker Tom Petty as reported by The Sun!
Sam and his co-writers James Napier and William Phillips have acknowledged the similarities of their Grammy-nominated hit to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' 1989 single "I Won't Back Down" which the frontman penned with Jeff Lynne. But they also maintained that it was a complete coincidence.
