After dealing with strong criticism with its "Pilipinas Kay Ganda" campaign, The Department of Tourism (DOT) is optimistic with the announcement of its latest slogan, "It's more fun in the Philippines." Along with the new tagline, the DOT also came out with an accompanying logo showing a banig weave forming the shape of the Philippine map. Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez Jr. had been posting hints a few days ago on his Twitter @MonJQuotes on what to expect from the new slogan: "The new tourism line is not a manufactured line; it's drawn from the way Filipinos have touched the lives of tourists." It hopes to send the message that the Filipino people can actually be considered the main tourist attraction of the country: it's the Pinoys that make a vacation to the Philippines memorable. Even the growing number of international artists that have held concerts here have experienced first-hand the welcoming and enthusiastic reception of Filipinos. On more than one occasion, artists have commented on how they enjoy performing for the Filipino audience.
According to DOT's official Twitter account, the slogan is quickly becoming a trending topic! Use the hashtag #ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines in your posts and help spread the word!
