MYXclusive: DEMI LOVATO Can't Wait To See Her Filipino Lovatics Again!

As Lovatics count down the days before Demi Lovato's Live in Manila concert on April 30 at the Mall of Arena, MYXph.com got in touch with the singer-actress to find out how she's doing on her World Tour and to get a bit of a teaser on what Filipino fans should expect at her concert!

Check out what she had to say during our MYXclusive e-mail interview with Demi where we also got to know more about her recent songs and what we can expect from her in the near future!

It's been a year since you last came to the Philippines! How does it feel that you're finally coming back for a show?

It feels incredible! I’m so excited to head back!

What do you miss most here in the Philippines?

The fans! I’ve performed in the Philippines once before and the energy was so amazing, I had a great time.

What are you most looking forward to when you return to our country later this month?

I’m hoping to get to explore and see more of the cultural aspects while I’m there but we’ll see how much I have time for!

How's your world tour so far?

It’s been really great so far – I kicked off the tour in North America then went to Europe. This April, I’ll also be heading to Australia and New Zealand, which I’m really excited about!

What do you consider as your most unforgettable moment so far from your tour?

Every night that I’m able to see my Lovatics is unforgettable!

Your song "Really Don't Care is such a catchy tune and it leaves the listeners with a last song syndrome. Can you tell us the story behind this song?

I initially wrote it as a breakup song, but the message is so much more than that – it embodies a feeling of independence and empowerment.

What was the concept of your music video for this song?

We shot the video for “Really Don’t Care” at L.A. Pride which really demonstrated the message I was trying to convey in the song – It’s all about being comfortable in your own skin and not caring about other’s opinions of you.

How about "Nightingale"? What is the song about?

Everyone has a Nightingale. For me, the song is a reminder of my father who passed away a couple of years ago and a close friend that passed away when we were 13.

Your songs are very powerful and give inspiration. What advice can you share to your fans who are experiencing trials in their lives right now?

Thank you! My advice to them is to get help as soon as possible. Talk to family, friends, and teachers – anyone that you can trust. You’re not alone – everything you are going through is temporary, it will get better.

Aside from your tour, what else is in store for you in the coming months?

I have several projects I’m working on! In addition to developing my skincare line ‘DEVONNE By Demi’ and my hair extension line ‘Secret Color’, I’ve also been in the studio creating new music and will continue to support initiatives close to my heart. As an advocate for mental health, I recently launched The Lovato Treatment Scholarship which funds those who cannot afford treatment for mental illness.

How will this show be different from the one you had last year?

Plan to have some fun! There’ll be some dancing involved this time around and since my last show, the music has changed so you will get to see me perform songs from my latest album and maybe a couple of old hits!

What's your message to all your fans here in the Philippines who are excited to see you perform live?

I can’t wait to see you – I’m looking forward to a fun show together!

Looks like we're definitely in for a huge treat from Demi Lovato at her concert and she's just as excited as we are to see her! Ready those voices and put your hands up for one of the most awaited concerts of the year - Demi Lovato Live In Manila! See you there!
