MYXclusive: IDINA MENZEL Mesmerizes Manila!

The Mall of Asia Arena was filled with delight as Idina Menzel performed for her Filipino fans last Sunday! Manila is the fifth destination in her world tour and she's travelling with her five-year old son Walker!

The enchanting show kicked off with an all-time favorite from the musical Wicked, "Defying Gravity"! The Tony-winning performer couldn't contain her excitement and asked how to say "I love you" in Filipino. Upon learning the words, she repeatedly said "Mahal Kita" in the best way she could!

After blurting out “Sometimes you just feel like singing a Radiohead song”, Idina pulled off a surprisingly captivating cover of "Creep"! Fans of different ages adored her even more and applauded after the number!

Idina also performed her original pop songs "I Stand" and "Brave" after telling the story of her humble beginnings! She further endeared herself to the crowd when she came down from the stage and chose 3 audience members to sing “Take Me Or Leave Me” with her - including Timmy Pavino from The Voice!

The singer also recalled her Rent days and dedicated “No Day But Today” to her late friend Jonathan Larson! She even sang without a microphone while the crowd lit up the venue with their phones. She said the lights were like constellations up in the sky which gave her chills!

The Broadway diva also took the chance to commend Filipinos for being such a smart and sophisticated audience! “I hope that I’ll be back soon,” she added as she felt the warm acceptance of her fans!

As the show went to its climax, Idina pulled off another wonderful surprise as she sang the chorus of her hit "Let It Go" in Filipino!“Bumitaw, bumitaw. Di ko na maitatago”, she sang with a big smile!

Her gravity-defying singing talent is definitely a spectacle you don't wanna miss!
