1981- John Lennon's murderer pleaded guilty to his crime and was sentenced to 20 years to life in New York's Attica state prison. 

1985 - Bryan Adams started a two-week run at #1 on the US singles chart with "Heaven".

1992 - Nirvana's Kurt Cobain was rushed to hospital after a gig in Belfast, Northern Ireland suffering from acute stomach pains brought on by ulcers.

1994 - Houston Rockets won against New York Knicks in NBA Finals Game 7.

1997 - Hanson went to #1 on the UK chart with their debut album Middle Of Nowhere.

2008 - Jonas Brothers' hit "When You Look With In The Eyes" reigned on the MYX charts!

2008 - Coldplay went to #1 on the UK singles chart with 'Viva La Vida'.

2012 - The Philippines lent 1 billion pesos to the International Monetary Fund. (Yup, you read that right - lent!)

2014 - 5 Seconds of Summer’s "Don't Stop" was #1 on the MYX Hit Chart!
