In a surprising announcement earlier today, Salamin informed friends, fans, and followers of their decision to go on "indefinite hiatus." They stated: "After our band meeting last night we have decided to go on an indefinite hiatus. We went through a lot of trials and tribulations in the last couple of years and we would not have gotten through them without your love and support. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!"

The band added that they'll still play on all their scheduled February gigs, so you'd still get to see them play.

SalaminTo all of our family, friends, and followers: After our band meeting last night we have decided to go on an indefinite hiatus. We will still play all of our scheduled Feb shows though so we hope to see you there. We went through a lot of trials and tribulations in the last couple of years and we would not have gotten through them without your love and support. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!

The band just came from a mini-South Korean tour last month which they produced themselves. During our previous interview with Salamin vocalist Paolo Valenciano, he shared with MYXph the difficulties of being an indie band.

"A lot of people know that Salamin is an indie band, and being indie is not the easiest thing," Paolo shared. "Maraming pagsubok, maraming problems with getting the album out, getting the music out, pero madami rin namang blessings." (Watch the interview here)

The four-peice band, formed in 2004, released their sophomore album last year. Composed of Paolo Valenciano (Vocals), Sho Hikino (Guitars, B. Vocals), Miks Bersales (Bass), and Eo Marcos (Drums), Salamin appeared on MYX last month when front man Paolo Valenciano was the MYX Celebrity VJ.

Any reaction on Salamin's decision to take a breather?
