It's a very unforgettable and emotional night for the Pinoy music fans as Kamikazee gave all they’ve got during their Huling Sayaw The Final Show held at the Araneta Coliseum!
Every bit of the concert was worth-cherishing, and the band could not even believe that they can make the whole coliseum a jam-packed venue for their farewell concert.
The 15-year run of Kamikazee gave rise to timeless hits, and of course, they gave a fantastic rundown of those during their 4-hour show in front of a 15,000-strong crowd. And now that they have to go on a hiatus, let’s relive the amazing moments from the Huling Sayaw Final Show!
That moment when Araneta Coliseum’s lights went out and the guys from Queso kicked off the show and rocked every one's socks off. And of course, band frontman Ian Tayao made his signature backflip to the sold out venue.
After the massive Queso set, Miggy, Mong, Calde, Ariel, and Macoy of Chicosci took the massive stage by storm. They even paid homage to Kamikazee as Miggy shouted “Kamikazee Vampire Social Club”!
Urbandub is the last opening act to perform. Gab and the rest of the band is just finishing all of their remaining gigs this year before they officially part ways. Urbandub’s set already drove the concertgoers’ emotions crazy, minutes before the momentous Final Show.
The much-awaited Final Show commenced with “Chiksilog”. Everyone’s giddy, yet emotional when Jay entered the huge big stage. The giant LED monitors made the concert experience even wilder.
Jay expressed gratefulness to all the people who came after performing “Hanggang Tingin”. He said he never thought that they would be very loved and idolized by lots of fans. Back then they were just yuppies who love to hang out in U.P., but right now they’re one of the most celebrated rock bands in the country.
When the band decided to have picture-taking moments with their fans after the mid part of their main set. Jay was so vocal expressing his gratitude to his fans.
Jay also opened up regarding his health condition. He said that he’ll undergo surgery next year because he has a cyst developing in his throat.
Aside from performing songs, which are not in their regular setlist, Jay and the band almost did all of their signature stage gestures such as head stunts, crazy high-fives, intimate crowd interactions, and doing a cover of Parokya Ni Edgar’s Halaga, and a parody of Hale’s “The Day You Said Goodnight”!
That bittersweet moment when RnB Queen Kyla entered the scene and they performed the last song of the main set, “Huling Sayaw”!
When Kamikazee returned to the stage for an explosive encore set! This time, the band gone vintage as they performed their old songs like “Lucky”, “Girlfriend” “Doobie Doo” and “Tsinelas”!
Before their biggest hit, “Narda” wrapped up the final show, Jay called two ladies from the audience for a “kissing portion”. The lucky ladies were given a chance to join Jay onstage and kiss him.
