The untimely demise of Whitney Houston, hailed as the worldÆs most awarded female act of all times, has saddened not only international music scene, but also Filipino artists, especially those who began their careers by singing the legendary divaÆs songs.
To pay tribute to HoustonÆs exemplary contribution to the development of popular music, MYX will air a special tribute entitled ôRemembering Whitney: The MYX Music Memorialö today, Saturday (Feb. 18), 10AM.
MYX VJs Nikki, Bianca, Joyce and Mike will recount some of WhitneyÆs milestones and biggest hits that have captivated the hearts of Pinoys such as ôI Will Always Love You,ö ôI Have Nothing,ö ôGreatest Love of All,ö ôSaving All My Love For Youö and many more.
Also included in this tribute are the late singerÆs early journeys and discographies before she became an acclaimed icon. Local artists, MYX VJs and Filipino fans will also share their experiences listening to WhitneyÆs songs and how the singerÆs death has made an impact to them.

Whitney Houston is the daughter of gospel singer Cissy Houston and cousin of singer Dionne Warwick. She catapulted to stardom with a string of smash hits in the 1980s and the 1990s, including "The Greatest Love of All," "I Will Always Love You," "Run to You," and "I'm Every Woman." She crossed over to acting, starring in The Bodyguard, alongside Kevin Costner, and Waiting to Exhale. The soundtrack of the latter won Album of the Year at the Grammys in 1994 featuring the song "I Will Always Love You." With over 400 awards to her name, including 6 Grammys and 2 Emmys, the Guinness Book of World Records has listed Whitney Houston as "the most awarded female artist of all time."
