"I'm ready for women to be taken just seriously as men."
Following news of fellow singer Kesha being denied injunction from her recording contract in her dispute with pop producer Dr. Luke, Demi Lovato took to Twitter not only to voice her love and support for Kesha, but also to stand up for women and speak out against oppression.
The "Confident" singer talks about how she's disappointed that women are not being taken more seriously, and invites other people - especially those who self-identify as feminists - to come out and join the conversation.
Demi's statement for Kesha was one of encouragement, love, hope, and strength.
