There is no place like space! That's why lots of concertgoers took flight with Captain Bob on this year's Wanderland Music and Arts Festival! Wanderers hurdled different missions to watch the much awaited local and international acts in the outdoor music festival which lasted over 12 hours!
We know that you still have post-#WanderlandMusicFest feels right now so we are bringing you some of the highlights of the annual music festival held at the Circuit Events Ground!
Interactive Space Missions
Wanderers were in for a special treat with different interactive hubs around the Wanderland Planet! Super cool prizes including a ticket to next year's event were up for grabs! Aside from awesome art installations, festival merchandise were also available!
Mighty Local Acts
Carrying the OPM torch in this year's Wanderland lineup were Oh, Flamingo who formally opened the festival, Jensen and the Flips who trended on Twitter after their awesome set, and our MYX Spotlight artist for March, Cheats!
The three bands' performances proved that they could be at par with their international counterparts!
The thrill heightened with the set of synthpop duo Panama who satisfied their fans with their groovy 80s sound! Of course, the band played their hit "Always" much to everyone's delight! Up next was Aussie indie pop band San Cisco who obviously loved playing for the already sun-kissed Wanderers! Meanwhile, taking command of the DJ stage was Commandeur!
The CRWN x Jess Connelly Impact
Astounding beats filled the space during the set of CRWN as he collaborated with Jess Connelly! The two were later joined by Curtismith who also played on the DJ stage!
Chad Valley Plus The Stars
Chad Valley kept the Wanderers entertained as the sun went down! Numerous celebrities also flocked to this year's music festival!!
The Naked And Famous Didn't Know They Were Famous Here
The sun was long gone but The Naked and Famous energized the whole venue with hits like "Punching in a Dream" and "Young Blood"! The band from New Zealand was also surprised because they did not expect such warm reception from Filipino fans!
Feels-filled Wanderland Planet featuring Bon Iver
Bon Iver was one of the biggest draws of Wanderland 2016! Undoubtedly, the band succeeded in making this year's edition one of the most successful and unforgettable to date - thanks to frontman Justin Vernon's impressive presence along with the help of folk trio The Staves!
After their magical set, Bon Iver also gave some props to co-headliner Death Cab For Cutie who they haven't seen for quite some time!
Welcome Aboard (Once Again), DCFC!
Ben Gibbard and the rest of the band finally returned to the Philippines after four years! And as expected, it was a spectacle that DCFC fans shouldn't have missed! Aside from their latest tracks from Kintsugi, they played a barrage of timeless hits like "Title and Registration" plus "Marching Bands of Manhattan"!
Ben wonderfully interacted with the audience by getting some fans’ phones so he could take a selfie or a short video clip! The Indie Girls and Boys of Manila surely had an intense hangover after that wonderful performance!
Until the next Wanderland experience, fellow Wanderers!
