LOOK: 5 YouTubers You Should Subscribe To!

YouTube is such an indelible part of our lives in this era of technology and dependence on social media, it's almost impossible to imagine - or for some of us, remember - how we managed to keep ourselves occcupied in very mundane, idle activities like sitting in an FX or waiting for your name to be called in line.

YouTube is a ways away from its humble beginnings as a video-sharing website; in fact, it's gone on to start careers for people like Justin Bieber or Carly Rae Jepsen. YouTube has become its own platform with its own style, and we're here to give you our top 5 picks for YouTube celebrities you should be following!

Let's start with our very own Filipino YouTube stars, shall we? Lloyd Cafe Cadena or LCLearns is famous amongst Pinoys for his various tutorial videos dealing with matters like "How To Have Fun In The Summer" or "How To Move On From A Break-up". His flamboyant, over-the-top personality and high-speed rambling make for a very funny video experience that makes you watch each of his videos from start to end. Nakakalurky siya!

2. HappySlip

HappySlip was born when Filipino-American Christine Gambito stumbled upon YouTube as a means for comedy vlogging. She writes, produces, records, and stars as herself and her various family members in their strange, very Pinoy shenanigans! The name "HappySlip" in fact, came from how she grew up thinking the garment "half-slip" was pronounced hap-islip because of her mother. Christine's lighthearted comedy is fun and relatable, and everyone in the family can watch!

3. Nigahiga

Tyler Oakley is a vlogger whose adorable personality and witty sense of humor have made him successful in cyber-Hollywood. Since his massive success, he has gone on to write a book, become an ambassador for LGBT rights on various youth activist platforms, and has even appeared on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon! 5. Miranda Sings

We had to save this one for last - Miranda Sings is a character played by Colleen Ballinger-Evans as a parody of YouTubers who claim to be talented and successful but are the complete opposite. Miranda lives with her mom and her uncle, and is supposedly very famous, talented, and successful that she is "known as the voice coach of Ariana Grande and 5th Harmony." She posts covers of hit songs, tutorials on how to be a model or sing like Beyonce, or even vlogs about her strange, sometimes scary concept of fun. Miranda and her videos are comedy gold!
