3D’s #DAMATheRepeat concert by Johnoy Danao, Ebe Dancel, and Bullet Dumas was just as successful as its first run at the Music Museum! Lots of their fans clamored for a repeat after hearing lots of good things during the first sold-out show last February.
Playing an hour-long set each, the talented singer-songwriters were accompanied by the Manila String Machine. The amazing arrangements with the string section undoubtedly launched everyone into a “feels trip” all night long!
“Simple lang ako mangarap, ngunit kabilang ka sa mga pangarap”
This month's MYX Spotlight Artist, Bullet Dumas, opened the show and proved to everyone why he is considered one of the country's fast-rising musicians. Arguably the show's X factor, Bullet's excellent repertoire is much better heard live, raw, and intimate. His songs like “PSSST”, “Tugtog”, and “Limguhit” were nothing short of moving. Bullet was loudly applauded after his amazing set, littered with his own brand of comic elements onstage.
“Sabay nating gawing kahapon ang bukas”
Johnoy Danao, the night's second performer, opened with his song, “Ikaw at Ako”. Apart from playing the notable songs from "Samu't Sari", he also treated the crowd to a new song which will be included in his upcoming album! His last song, "Salubong", was dedicated to all dog-lovers in audience, as it was a tribute to his own dog who had passed away.
“Nag-iisang tiyak, sa isang libong duda”
The most decorated musician of the three, Ebe Dancel played songs from his latest album, Bawat Daan as well as Sugarfree classics like "Kwarto", "Wag Ka Nang Umiyak" and "Tulog Na". The Los Baños-based musician expressed his happiness as his parents were present in the audience to watch him perform. Ebe made his set extra special by turning down the lights and letting concertgoers' cellphones light up the venue!
After their individual sets, 3D gathered onstage to perform “Paglisan” together. After thanking everyone in attendance, the three closed the sold-out show with the Sugarfree hit, “Burnout”, It was inndeed the perfect song to encapsulate that magical “DAMA” night.
#DAMATheRepeat is one memorable night not just for fans of Danao, Dancel, and Dumas but also to everyone in the Music Museum that night!
