True to its vision of promoting talented local acts, Warner Music Philippines showcased three bands with different approaches towards rock music during Warner Music Night at The Fort last September 26! We got served premium rock and roll goodness from these bands on the label's roster: up-and-coming quartet IV Of Spades, the heavy-sounding Talata, and Mayonnaise who brought back their emotive punk rock sound that night.
These lads are gonna break fans' hearts
Up first was IV of Spades who delivered a New Wave-meets-Michael Jackson-with-a-taste-of-alternative-rock sound. This band definitely has potential to break out soon with their indie pop rock attack on their original songs. Can't wait for these boys to come out with a record!
Talata has serious stories to tell
If you don't know Talata yet, then you''re missing out! This rock band fronted by Reyg Linao put on a show as if they were on a big stage. Heavy guitar riffs fired up the intimate venue as they performed original songs "Fed Up", "Bride", and "Margarita". The band also did a surprising cover of Rage Against The Machine's "Killing In The Name". If head banging is your thing, they are a must-watch band.
Mayonnaise revisits old hits
The night's headliner was Mayonnaise who recently rocked Arellano University for MYX Slam Jam! Thankful for friends and fans who came to the Warner Night, the band played past singles such as "Torres", "Sinungaling", "Bakit Part 2", and "Pa'no Nangyari 'Yun"!
They also rocked out to "Tayo Na Lang Dalawa" plus "You Can't Be Right" from their latest album For The Rest Of My Life. It was an awesome prelude to Mayonnaise's 14th anniversary gig at 12 Monkeys this Saturday.
Truly, the local music scene will not run out of good rock bands. Aside from these three acts, you can also check out other artists signed to Warner Music Philippines like Brisom, Lunar Lights, and SUD.
