If Moana is being called by the ocean, Janella Salvador has been called by Disney to sing the new animated movie's theme song "How Far I'll Go" for its Philippine release.
Our very own VJ Ai is in Singapore for the Asian press conference of Moana where Janella was introduced along with other young female singers from the region. Also present was the voice of Moana herself, Auli'i Cravalho! Watch out for the MYX Movie Date feature soon!
After being tapped to sing Hong Kong Disneyland's 10th anniversary theme song "Happily Ever After" in 2015, Janella was chosen to perform the song from Moana which was written by Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda.
In the press conference, Janella performed "How Far I'll Go" along with Maudy Ayunda of Indonesia, Ayda Jebat of Malaysia, Myra Maneepat Molloy of Thailand, and Minh Nhu of Vietnam.
The music video for Janella Salvador's version of "How Far I'll Go" is slated for release on November 18 while Moana opens in Philippine theaters this November 30.
