MYXclusive: ALEXA ILACAD Bares Her Teen Heart In “To The Moon And Back”!

Clad in a black and white mini dress and black boots, teen actress Alexa Ilacad rocked the stage with the band Gracenote. Who would have thought that the little girl, who models and acts, has something more up her sleeves - singing.

Growing up having pop rock music in her playlist, it's not surprising that the young star eventually found her own sound in that genre - which is clearly shown in her debut album produced by Star Music, Darwin Hernandez of Big Band Syndicate, and Rye Sarmiento of 6cyclemind.

Alexa is grateful to her fans who always tell her that they'll love and support her "to the moon and back" so she named her album after the popular phrase. "This album is for them. This is my way of giving back to all the support they’ve given me... I've decided to title it To The Moon And Back para alam nilang para sa kanila talaga," she said in a MYXclusive interview.

The album speaks of the experiences of a teenager rolled into 7 tracks including the lead single "Pakipot, Suplado" and a bonus track featuring the other half of the NLex loveteam, Nash Aguas. She was backed up by Wendell Garcia of Pupil on drums, Bob Cañamo of 6cyclemind on bass, and Rye on guitar.

All songs from To The Moon And Back were composed by Gracenote vocalist Eunice Jorge in relation to the 16-year-old's real life situations. In the process of making the whole album, Eunice and Alexa fostered a tight friendship!

"It's an honor to be one of the witnesses, one of the people na na-involve sa career ni Alexa ngayon and to be able to write songs for Alexa... it's really an honor. I'm really happy na meron siyang album at bilang kaibigan at bilang writer ng album na 'to," Eunice told

Eunice was amazed the first time she heard Alexa's voice and was inspired to write more songs upon hearing her stories, "Dahil naramdaman ko rin yung buhay ko sa buhay niya yung kwento ko sa kwento niya."

Other tracks in the album are "Not Too Young", "Dreamboat" (about her crush Enchong Dee), "Kung Pwede Lang" (about a boy who's ready to commit and a girl who feels the contrary), "Kahit Saan Kahit Kailan", and "Puso".

"It's about me, all the experiences na napagdaanan ko na, all my feelings I laid them all down," the new recording artist said.

As Eunice said, young listeners will enjoy and connect with the songs from To The Moon And Back. You'll catch yourself reflecting on your own life. Check out the MYXclusive photos from the presscon HERE!
