Nicki Minaj has toned down her image a bit. And she says it's for the kids. Although it surprises her that she's made a fan base of young girls, she says, "I love children and I respect children so much. ...I'm big on them remaining, you know, kids." Which is why on her recently released sophomore album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, Nicki showcases a singing voice, and a less racy appearance.
The reason behind the name "Roman Reloaded" is Nicki's featuring her male alter ego, Roman, much like Lady Gaga's "Jo Calderone". Actually, people have been beginning to notice that there are quite a few similarities between the two artists, which irritates the "Super Bass" singer. They can both be often seen wearing out-there hairpieces, and over the top costumes. In Nicki's opinion, though, these are not enough reasons for them to be compared."Our music doesn't sound the same. Our stage presence is not the same. I just can't see the similarities," she says.
Lady Gaga is also known for having a large fan base which includes kids, but what surely makes Nicki different from the former artist is her conscious concern for what her younger fans hear in her music. According to the female rapper, "I don't want them to go around cursing and acting crazy."
