Mariah Carey's performance during the annual Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve in New York that caught her lip syncing was, as described by many, not the best way to end 2016. The diva has kept mum about the whole fiasco, only tweeting "shit happens" after the show, and letting her representative do all the talking.
However, Entertainment Weekly got a hold of Mariah and asked her a couple of questions we also were dying to ask the superstar.
If you're wondering how she's feeling about the whole incident now that a couple of days has passed, she said that "Dick Clark would not have let an artist go through that and he would have been as mortified as [she] was in real time." This came after reports says she and her team believes that Dick Clark Productions "sabotaged" the perfomance.
When asked directly about her feelings toward the incident, Mariah said that, "Dick Clark would not have let an artist go through that and he would have been as mortified as I was in real time," she continued.
Even after the terrible performance, Mariah confirmed it won't stop her from agreeing to a live TV event in the future, but would make her less trusting of working with anyone outside of her own team.
"My true fans have been so supportive and I am so appreciative of them and everybody in the media that came out to support me after the fact because it really was an incredible holiday season that turned into a horrible New Year’s Eve."
