MYXclusive: GOO GOO DOLLS' First Manila Concert Is One For The Books!

For the first time ever, Goo Goo Dolls visited the Philippines for a major concert! After almost three decades, Filipino fans finally experienced the American band's high-energy live performance. Here are some highlights from their visit which was truly one for the books.

We had a MYXclusive interview with the band!

John Rzeznik and Robby Takac sat down with our very own VJ Tippy before their guesting on It's Showtime!

The concert was streamed on Facebook Live

At first, Fans who couldn't make it to the Big Dome felt down… #huhudolls

But not for long! The concert was broadcast on the band's official Facebook page so Filipino fans from all over the world got to see the highlights of their amazing set. It's not every day a band does that. How nice!

But of course, nothing beats the live experience!

Goo Goo Dolls opened the show with "Over And Over", "Long Way Down", and "Slide" - earning loud cheers from the crowd! "It's just so strange that we couldn't come here 20 years ago. But here we are!"

The band's energy didn't waver throughout the concert! With a parade of smash hits like "Big Machine", "Name", "Before It's Too Late", "Sympathy", and "Broadway", fans got hit by nostalgia hard! Of course, they also enjoyed songs from their latest album Boxes such as "So Alive" and "Free Of Me"!

The "Iris" Effect

Perhaps the most unforgettable moment of the night was when Goo Goo Dolls played their huge hit "Iris"! Filipino fans waited for almost two decades to witness this Grammy-winning song from the City of Angels soundtrack live! Almost everyone at the Big Dome had their arms up capturing the moment on their phones while others simply enjoyed it with their significant others.

After the show, the band immediately posted: "Thank you sooooooooooo much Manila!!!! We’ll be back soon!!!!!!"
