Linkin Park just released their new single featuring electropop artist Kiiara but some fans are not taking it well.
Over the years, the American group has established itself as one of the most influential bands in the rock scene. And now that they released a pop track, it's got everyone asking themselves: "Why?" This big shift confused many of the nu metal band's fans.
Speaking to Billboard, Mike Shinoda revealed that the sound of the entire album will be much like their new pop track "Heavy"!
"One of the reasons why we chose 'Heavy' as the first single is because it is really the core sound of the album," Shinoda said. "This wasn't a scenario where the whole album sounds one way and the single sounds different. This is how the album sounds. So we wanted to go out with a song like that, where everybody can get a sense of the direction of this body of work."
The band also announced that their seventh studio album will be out on May 19!
I'm holding on / Why is everything so heavy? / Holding on / So much more than I can carry / I keep dragging around what's bringing me down / If I just let go, I'd be set free / Holding on / Why is everything so heavy?
Does this mean we won't ever hear anything likeHybrid Theory or Meteora? Makes our hearts feel heavy. Nonetheless, give it a listen below!
