Ed Sheeran gave fans a nice surprise for his BRIT Awards performance this year, collaborating with English hip-hop artist Stormzy. The singer-songwriter delivered yet another standout performance with a mashup of his two new hit singles, “Castle On The Hill” and “Shape Of You”.
While singing "Shape Of You" however, the singer asked Stormzy to "follow his lead" and to come onstage to perform a rap verse.
In an interview earlier with Nick Grimshaw on BBC Radio 1, Ed said that he prepared, “something that I think nobody is expecting." And surely, fans couldn't have expected him to do what he did during the awards show. "I think it’ll be decent. I’ve managed to keep it secret up until now, which is good. But tomorrow night, I think we’re the penultimate act”, the 26-year old singer-songwriter added.
The rapper quickly tweeted about his experience, saying that sharing the stage with Ed Sheeran was 'one of the greatest days of his life.'
Back in 2015, Ed Sheeran won for Best British Male Solo Artist and British Album of The Year at the BRIT Awards.
