WATCH: Wrong BEST PICTURE Winner Announced At The 2017 Oscars!

Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway committed a controversial mistake during the 2017 Academy Awards!

After the entire cast of La La Land took the stage to accept the Academy Award for Best Picture, it was revealed that Beatty and Dunaway read the wrong winner. The duo announced La La Land as the best picture winner when in fact, it was Moonlight that won award.

The staff immediately went on stage to tell the cast about the mistake. La La Land producer Jordan Horowitz then stepped up to the microphone to announce that Moonlight indeed won the award.

“I want to tell you what happened. I opened the envelope, and it said Emma Stone, La La Land. That's why I took such a long look at Faye and at you; I wasn't trying to be funny,” Beatty shared.

Moonlight director Barry Jenkins then gave an acceptance speech. “Very clearly, very clearly, even in my dreams, this could not be true,” Jenkins said. “But to hell with dreams, I'm done with it, because this is true.”
