LOOK: ED SHEERAN Gives Credit To TLC Writers For "Shape Of You"

Ed Sheeran put in three addtional writers to his hit song, “Shape of You”. Kandi Burruss and Tameka Cottle, the ones responsible for TLC‘s 1999 hit “No Scrubs”, as well as producer Kevin Briggs, were added to the list of the song's credits. "Shape Of You" initially listed only Ed and Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid as writers.

Fans had earlier pointed out the similarities between "Shape of You" and "No Scrubs".

Girl, you know I want your love / Your love was handmade for somebody like me” sounds eerily like the '90s chart topper's "I don’t want no scrubs / A scrub is a guy that can’t get no love from me

Kandi posted on Instagram her thank you message to Ed saying, "Congrats #edsheeran @teddysphotos for having the #1 album! & thank you for allowing @majorgirl & I to share in the success of #ShapeOfYou! #1 for 7 weeks!"
