Korean singer-songwriter Jay Park is, without a doubt, well-loved by the Filipino fans. Amidst the bad weather caused by the heavy rain, K-Pop fans of all ages excitedly gathered at the Eastwood Mall last Friday to catch their favorite pop star perform his hit songs. Among the other Asian countries, the Philippines is the second stop of Jay ParkÆs tour for the promotion of his newest full-length hiphop and RnB album, æNew BreedÆ.
Before the much-anticipated event, 10 lucky Jay Park fans were granted the Meet & Greet held at Red Box, Eastwood Mall. They just joined the MYX Promo by answering a question regarding the new album and without breaking a sweat, they got the chance to meet and welcome Jay Park personally!
Hosted by the beautiful DJ Jinri Park, the event started off with the performance of the Acoustic Sweetheart, Sabrina. She sang four songs from her album. Among the songs were acoustic covers of pop songs like ôMoves Like Jaggerö by Maroon 5 and ôRolling in the Deepö by Adele.
The crowd was hyped when Sabrina sang her last song because everyone was really excited for the Korean sensation. Jay started off with his original rendition of BoB and Bruno Mars' ôNothinÆ On You.' After the first song, he introduced himself and thanked everyone for the hospitality and the warm welcome that he's been getting from the Filipinos. Jay mentioned that he knew a few Tagalog words like ôSalamatö and ôMahal Kitaö which didn't fail to make the audience crazy because of intensified admiration! He also shared that his favorite Filipino dish is Chicken Adobo and that our famous dessert, Halo-Halo, is something he wants to try. His line-up of songs include ôI Got Your Backö, ôStarö, ôUp and Downö, ôKnow Your Nameö and ôGirlfriendö, a song he dedicated to all the Filipinas during his presscon.
To spice up the crowd even more, three lucky girls from the crowd were selected to play a game with Jay himself called ôKnow Your Danceö. Jay will dance a part in his song ôKnow Your Nameö and all they have to do is dance and give it their best.
He delivered a very energetic performance which proved why the Filipinos adore and look up to him so much. So the next time you'll ask why fans are going crazy over him, get yourself a copy of Jay Park's "New Breed" album and find out for yourself!
