Amidst protests from young Christians last Friday, loud cheers and screams welcomed the controversial pop superstar Lady Gaga as she arrives at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport around 7:30 pm last night via a private jet from Taipei. From the airport, she went straight to Makati Shangri-La hotel where she will stay for the duration of her concerts scheduled May 21 and May 22. She stopped briefly at the entrance to sign autographs for some of her fans but no interviews were permitted.
GagaÆs arrival means her performances on Monday and Tuesday will push through amid protests from some religious and political groups. Authorities in Manila approved the concerts but said they won't allow nudity or lewd acts.
