Former Disney actress Miley Cyrus is all grown up and she's proud to tell the whole world about it.
This past weekend, the 19-year-old singer flaunted her new figure at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards and days before that, she gave an interview on Lifetime's The Conversation With Amanda De Cadenet
, sharing her thoughts on issue like sex.
"Girls who base how much they're worth on the sexual favors they can do for somebody, that makes me really sad, because sex is actually really beautiful."
Not only does Miley stress the importance of sex education for young people, but she also believes in presenting sex in a positive way.
"Let them know that they wouldn't be here without it, and it is a beautiful thing, and it is magic, and it is when you connect with somebody and it isn't how much you're worth," she stated.
"Your worth isn't based on that. Your worth is based on how you feel about yourself." Being a TV personality and role model for teenagers, Miley hasn't always felt comfortable opening up about issues like this, but through the years, she's come to accept that she's allowed to speak her mind and have an opinion.
"I realized that my whole life isn't one giant press junket," she confessed. "I don't have to be smiling all the time and have the perfect answer."
