BIGBANG's G-Dragon now has a special forest named after him in celebration of his birthday. The Kwon Ji-Yong forest, taken from the artist's real name, opened in Jeju Island, Korea is now open and is the first star-named forest in the country.
The project first began in August 2016 through the help of Tree Planet (a Seoul-based crowdfunding service for tree planting) and fan site Always GD to celebrate the idol's upcoming 29th birthday in August. Located behind the Citrus Museum in Seogwipo, the forest has total of 50 Citrus trees with its future harvested products reserved for charities.
"We are glad to open the forest in such a beautiful city like Seogwipo. We hope the "G-Dragon forest becomes a rising tourist attraction in the city," a Tree Planet representative said during the ceremony.
