Korean superstar Rain has a lot of things going on with his life right now. Apart from continuing his already successful singing career, he recently got married to long-time girlfriend Kim Tae Hee and is expecting their first baby. He's also planning on making a big Hollywood comeback but it turns out that the daddy-to-be had to turn down a role in a long-standing blockbuster film franchise, Soompi reported.
According to veteran Korean actor Lee Beom Soo (also Rain's co-star in upcoming Korean bio Uhm Bok Dong), the idol was initially cast in the X-Men movie installment but dropped the chance due to conflicting schedule. "Rain was actually cast in X-Men movie. They asked him to start filming in July but the filming of Uhm Bok Dong was supposed to last until the end of August, so he [stayed] with our movie. I was really thankful for his commitment," he revealed.
The Hollywood film franchise, which is slated for 2018 release, prepares to shoot its two chapters: The Dark Phoenix and New Mutants. Given that the former will begin taping in July, we can assume it's where Rain was supposed to play a part.
Lee Beom Soo expressed admiration for Rain's overall character and dedication as an actor. "I got to discover some new sides of Rain through this production," he said. "He's very genuine and passionate when it comes to acting. I used to think he was just a celebrity, but I've been noticing that he has the aura of an actor."
