Kendall & Kylie Jenner were under fire recently for releasing t-shirts that featured images of different music icons including Notorious B.I.G., Tupac Shakur, Metallica, Kiss, Black Sabbath, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd.
Biggie‘s mother took to social media to slam the reality show siblings and revealed that they did not get permission from her on anyone connected to the estate to use his likeness on the shirts.
Similarly, Sharon Osbourne, wife of Black Sabbath singer Ozzy Osbourne, also voiced out her apperent disgust with the shirts telling the girls to stick to 'what they know'.
The shirt designs featuring the legendary musicians were unveiled on the Kendall & Kylie online shop earlier this week. Selling for $125 each, the shirts contain photos of the icons overlaid with shots of the Jenner siblings and have "Repurposed in the USA" printed on them.
The sisters have since issued a statement on social media and have taken down the products from their website.
"These designs were not well thought out and we deeply apologize to anyone that has been upset and/or offended, especially to the families of the artists,” said the siblings on their Twitter posts. “We are huge fans of their music and it was not our intention to disrespect these cultural icons in anyway. The tee shirts have been pulled from retail and all images have been removed. We will use this as an opportunity to learn from these mistakes and again, we are very sorry.”.
