Aside from Gabby Alipe, another veteran local band vocalist paid tribute to Linkin Park's Chester Bennington follwing his death from apparent suicide.
Slapshock vocalist Jamir Garcia posted photos of him and his bandmates along with Chester on Instagram to proudly remember him. He said that he's in complete shock after hearing the news about his untimely death. "This man and his band helped shape me and my band to what we are right now," he stated.
Jamir also complimented the unique vocal talent of the late lead singer. Linkin Park are among the artists that pushed the so-called 'nu-metal' genre towards the mainstream and back in the early 2000s. Jamir admitted that Chester has been an important person in his career as a vocalist and meeting him was indeed an inspiring experience.
"He was such an important piece in my career. His voice is second to none it carries anger, pain and love.", the Slapshock singer said.
Jamir also told that he lost the original photos they took but was happy to have found some still exisiting online.
