In honor of late music icons Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington, OneRepublic sang a moving tribute at Good Morning America's summer concert series! Ryan Tedder and company were also joined by the Soundgarden frontman's 12-year old daughter Toni!
OneRepublic stepped in for Linkin Park who cancelled their appearance on the U.S. morning show in the wake of Chester's death. "Five days ago we found out we were doing this, because Linkin Park pulled out for obvious reasons. It's just an honor to be here," Ryan explained.
The singer-songwriter also remembered his friend Chris. "I was lucky enough to write and produce for him, and get to know him and his family over the years. He was even in one of our videos. The last couple of months have been very sobering for real reasons, so today we're just thrilled to do a song with Chris's daughter, a dedication to both of them."
Toni Cornell and the "Counting Stars" hitmakers performed Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" which was also sung by the Chester during her father's funeral. "It's an honor to perform this for my dad and Chester and to sing for them," she said. Watch their tear-jerking performance here:
Meanwhile, the Linkin Park frontman's widow Talinda tweeted her appreciation for the tribute.
