MYXclusive: MR. BONES & THE BONEYARD CIRCUS Launches Cinematic Music Video For "Take Me Down"

Local theatrical horror rock band Mr. Bones and The Boneyard Circus has launched their new music video for "Take Me Down" - the lead single of their upcoming third album The Grand Phantasma.

The music video is their first release since "The Hatter" in December later year. The band has once again outdone themselves with this latest release - thanks to the talented filmmaker Pedring Lopez of BlackOps Studios Asia. Pedring has previously worked on acclaimed horror-action film Nilalang (The Entity) and paranormal horror flick Binhi (The Seed).

Pedring commended the uniqueness of the horror aesthetic of the band and their shared desire to come up a "fantastic" visual approach to making of their music video. Direk Pedring approached the making "Take Me Down" like one of his films  and not just an ordinary music video.

The music video concept serves as a metaphor for a ballerina named La Ballerine (played by Aryanna Santiago) as she descends into madness. “She visits a new world full of amazing freaks, misfits, and she’s just confused why she’s there and she just meets all these crazy insane characters.”, says band frontman Mr. Bones Frankenstein.

After weeks of planning and shooting, the band admitted that they were blown away after seeing the outcome of the music video.  They're already in talks about producing future music videos with the same team of “Take Me Down” as early as now.

Their new bassist Carissa Ramos said that they really enjoyed the shoot. "Nakahanap ako ng family sa band. And super happy ako na nagbond kaagad kami.", since it marks the first time for the band to have a music video with their newest lineup.

Mr. Bones and The Boneyard Circus also wants you to watch out for the of their upcoming new album The Grand Phantasma because they are planning something special for its release. They hinted they want a “festival” for it so fans better look forward to that as well.

The music video launch of “Take Me Down” was supported by some of their friends from the local music scene like Tanya Markova, Maryzark and Hilera.

Kat Taylor of Saydie jammed with Mr. Bones onstage during their fun long set that night.
