The feud between Madonna and Lady Gaga is heating up!
The Mother Monster got back at the Queen of Pop at her Auckland, New Zealand show telling the fans: "You could never invalidate the power of 'Born This Way'. I donÆt want to be your f**king queen, I want to be your friend."
Just to add to the indirect tirades, it seemed that Lady Gaga is saying that Madonna's ideals are still stuck in the 80's and that the ideals now and then are very much different: "I don't even want to fight back because it's more important to me to keep writing music... things are really different than they were 25 years ago, and that's what makes 'Born this Way' so relevant for meàWe're socially in a different place and it's OK, we don't have to all slice and hate each other any more."
To answer if she was offended by Madonna's actions, Lady Gaga told the crowd that the Queen's actions are just making her feel better about herself: "It sometimes makes people feel better about themselves to put other people down or make fun of them or maybe make mockery of their work."
"Born This Way" has been said to sound like Madonna's "Express Yourself". Mother Monster said it was her homage to the Queen but the latter said it was "reductive".
