Demi Lovato shared that every song on her latest album "Unbroken" is "personal" and has a "special meaning".
This former Disney star revealed that the title refers to how she feels now that she has overcome her personal issues. It was very open to the public when she entered rehab in October 2010 because she was suffering from bulimia and self-injury and she had to treat her physical and emotional issues.
The recording and the production had to be interrupted for three months because this was the time all the rehabilitation took place, resulting in a lot of Demi's issues conveyed through the tracks.
'I feel that life is a journey with lots of ups and downs but I am still here, unbroken. Every song is personal and has a special meaning to me. Look at Skyscraper. That was very difficult for me to record. It was a cry for help,' she told the
UK edition of OK! magazine.
The newest X Factor feels grateful that she managed to overcome her issues and glad she made mistakes and has learnt from them.
'I am very grateful because I came out all right. Not everybody is that lucky,' she said.
