Artists React To Franco Break Up

We were all a bit shocked upon learning that the Pinoy rock "super band" Franco was breaking up. In case you were hiding under a huge rock and hasn't heard about it, check out our previous article here

The band is... or WAS composed of Franco Reyes, Eight Toleran of Queso, Gabby Alipe and Jan-jan Mendoza of Urbandub, and Buwi Meneses of Parokya ni Edgar. After releasing one album, playing superb live gigs, winning awards and earning the respect of local music aficionados, "Franco Suspitsados" has decided to call it quits. News that frontman Franco Reyes will be moving on with new bandmates and that he will push through with the much anticipated second album has been circulating.

MYXph had a chance to chat with Franco's contemporaries in the local band circuit regarding their reaction on the split-up. Jeff Bolivar of Soapdish says he's saddened with the news. Enzo Villegas of the band Eevee says Franco has earned the respect of people that he can do whatever he wants now. "Good luck Franco! Salamat kay 'bai' sa inspiration", Villegas added.

Sarkie Sarangay of Silent Sanctuary says he has heard about the break up and thinks it's okay for Franco Reyes to continue with new members backing him up. "It's about time na din na mag-step up si Franco", Sarangay said. Kiss Jane singer Jaq Dionisio thinks Franco will do good even if he goes solo since he's the chief songwriter. Dionisio wished Franco the best and was optimistic with the band's future saying: "I think it will carry on."

ôWho are you to judge the life I live?
I know I'm not perfect-and I don't live to be-
but before you start pointing fingers...
make sure your hands are clean!ö

We all await the next Franco statement. In the meantime, it's YOUR chance to react. Leave a comment below.
