After two seasons, Steven Tyler has quit American Idol. Tyler won't be returning to the judge's table on the reality talent show's 12th season. He says his first love is really singing for the band Aerosmith, which has been in the music industry for four decades now. In a statement, Tyler said: "I've decided it's time for me to let go of my mistress æAmerican Idol' before she boils my rabbit," referring to the movie, "Fatal Attraction" where an obsessed woman kills her lover's daughter's rabbit by boiling it.  "I got two fists in the air, and I'm kicking the door open with my band," Tyler added.

Aerosmith, who's behind the rock hit "Walk This Way"and the love song "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing", is set to release a brand new album after 8 years. The album is entitled "Music From Another Dimension" and will be out on November 6.

Steven Tyler and the other judges were instrumental in saving American Idol Season 11 runner-up Jessica Sanchez. They used the season's only save which proved to be a superb decision with Sanchez reaching the finale.
