International/K-Pop Vs. OPM: Pinoy Metal Band VALLEY OF CHROME Says "Walang Kasalanan Ang Mga Foreign Bands Kasi Sikat Sila"

We've been hearing a lot from MYXph.com visitors about their insights on the invasion of K-Pop artists and it's good that we can read and learn from all your comments and views regarding the issue!!! So today, we bring you once again another release of K-Pop vs. OPM!

2NE1 vs. Callalily? Super Junior vs. Slapshock? Bigbang vs. Kamikazee? Is this really what's happening right now?

We had the chance to talk to Pinoy metal band VALLEY OF CHROME and MYXph.com asked "Anong masasabi niyo sa mga international pop artists at K-Pop groups na tinatangkilik ngayon?

Rogel Africa (Vocals): Wala namang problem for me ang musical climate dito sa atin. Yun ang gusto ng majority eh. Di naman sila sagabal... Challenge yun to make us fired up and write better metal songs. Marami namang avenues like Rakista, PULP and of course MYX and yes, the kids who spread the word constantly.

Jordan Constantino (Bass): Challenge and opportunity na rin siguro para sa mga local artist kung paano sila maaaccept ng "masa." sad to say, madaming talents talaga ang nasa Pilipinas, hindi lang napapansin ng mainstream media and mainstream consumers. ang nakakatakot na effect lang nito for me ay baka magsimula magexplore ang Filipino artist musicians sa ibang bansa.  an example would be Cynthia Alexander leaving the country.

Jethro Mendoza

Tatel Marcelino (Guitar): Nope, on the other hand we're seeing a continuous rise in Filipinos' awareness of OPM. Thanks to channels like MYX and sites like Rakista. Also, Pulp Summer Slam. They gave us awesome breaks when we were starting out, and we're really thankful.

... rather than a "threat", let us look at the KPop/International group/s as a "challenge". Marami pa rin namang magagaling na local singers/bands that I'm sure will make it big given the right break. Weder-weder lang 'yan ika nga....
