The former American Idol judge admits she had an "emotional attachment' to American Idol. She confessed that her decision to quit was a lot harder than people may think. Jennifer felt a strong connection to the show and to the people behind it whom she called family, "I don't think people realize how emotionally attached I got to the show, the people who work on the show...it's like a family," Jennifer explained to Australian radio show hosts Kyle and Jackie O.
"I loved it so much I stayed on for two years. I only signed a contract for one year! Idol took up a lot of time and at the end of the day I felt it was time to move on."
A few weeks ago, Mariah Carey has been confirmed to replace her for the new season. Jennifer shared that her fellow American singer will do a good job as a part of the judging panel, "Mariah will do fine." Jennifer confirmed. "Will she be too soft? I don''t know. I''m not too soft and I did fine and that''s all I know."
