A fellow Brit is not a fan of the British boys, One Direction!
In our MYXclusive interview with James Morrison last May, he has expressed that he is not impressed with what the boys have accomplished so far. In terms of the rise of British artists in the global music scene, he's got his eyes on Adele who he thinks is one of the "good female singers", who can revive their place on the international charts.
For James, Adele has "...heartfelt songs that mean something, that aren't autotuned," and care less about the boyband.
James have been open about his dislike for boy groups and the show "The X Factor"
where the One Direction first started. He called "The X Factor" UK contestants, JLS, in 2011 "the worst singers I've ever heard." The reality singing show is also a bad influence to kids because, "That show sends out the message that you can be famous for doing f*** all and that you can succeed even if you're not a good singer," as said to metro.co.uk
The three British artists have all been recognized with their music both in UK and all over the world. James Morrison is a singer-songwriter with hits such as "You Give Me Something" and "Broken Strings" (a duet with Nelly Furtado). He has won a Brit Award in 2007 for Best Male Artist when he was just 21 years old. Adele has 3 Brits and 8 Grammys under her belt at 24 years old giving us hits such as "Rolling In The Deep" and "Someone Like You". The boys of One Direction hasn't won Grammys yet but have won a Brit Award for their single, "What Makes You Beautiful" and has earned themselves 26 more awards from around the world.
